How Does Epoxy Pipe Lining (CIPP) Work?
We use a three step process at Plumbing Professors®:
- First, the lines are evaluated with our video sewer cameras to determine what’s needed to resolve the problem and to assess if the pipe meets our minimum engineering requirements to accept a new CIPP epoxy pipe lining.
- Second, we thoroughly clean the lines using our high pressure water jetter and special tools to remove FOG (fat, oil, grease); dirt & mud; tree roots; debris; etc.
- Third, we pull a new CIPP liner in place and epoxy cure it using special resins. (Just like having a newflow in your pipe) The end result is the creation of a smooth and seamless ‘pipe within a pipe.’ However, the newer pipe is better. Roots cannot penetrate the new “jointless” pipe. Calcification can no longer occur because the deposits will not adhere to the inner walls of the new CIPP epoxy barrier-lined pipe. Best of all, in most cases the whole process is done below ground, which means landscape, hardscape, concrete and floors remain undisturbed.
NOTE: Our CIPP epoxy pipe lining system can be installed on both horizontal & vertical pipes, we can even install our CIPP system inside asbestos covered pipe or inside architectural stone without disturbing the asbestos or destroying historic architectural stone. Plumbing Professors® has a portfolio of CIPP epoxy lining jobs that we’d be happy to share with you.
