…it is the busiest time of the year for plumbers!
Forget “Black Friday” it should be called “Backed-up Friday”!
The great food and gatherings of family and friends put an enormous strain on your plumbing system. Your garbage disposal, toilets, water heater, drains and even your septic system will work harder than they normally do all year long.
So unless you want to see our smiling face at your Thanksgiving table, follow these simple tips so you don’t have to experience “Backed-up Friday”:
- NEVER put grease, cooking oils, fat, bones, skins, etc. into your garbage disposal or into a toilet. Instead, have a separate garbage pail for those food items, then dispose of them in the trash.
- Be sure your toilets, sinks and showers are draining correctly BEFORE your whole family arrives for the festivities. The large number of people can put a major strain on the system resulting in overflow or plug up.
- Remember, only things that come “out” of you and toilet paper should be flushed down the toilet. (Be sure the kids know that too)
- Throughout the holidays, be sure to keep an eye on your plumbing & septic system. Doing so might help you catch a simple problem before it becomes a major mess.
Remember if you do need us, we never charge extra for nights, weekends or holidays…EVER!
Happy Thanksgiving and please pass the gravy.
